The Staple by BarnBuilt is a compact, rotating grip element designed to deliver fast, technical movement in a minimal footprint.

Built from durable steel pipe in a smaller U-shaped design than a traditional Rest Bar, the Staple mounts directly into your rig using two bearing clamps, allowing the entire element to rotate freely during use. By changing the position of the bearings along the Staple, course builders can completely alter how the obstacle behaves.

When the bearings are mounted closer to the bottom of the U-shape, the Staple creates a hanging trapeze or nunchuck-style movement, allowing the obstacle to swing and rotate for a dynamic, momentum-driven challenge. Position the bearings higher, closer to the top of the U-shape, and the movement shifts to a rotating monkey bar rung, requiring athletes to maintain control as the obstacle rolls beneath their hands.

Athletes must engage quickly and maintain control while the Staple rotates under load, making every transition a test of coordination, rhythm, and grip endurance. Its compact size allows for tight spacing and creative sequencing, making it an ideal addition to technical sections, transition zones, or high-intensity grip lines.
