Shelf Drop

The Shelf Drop by DGS Ninja takes the familiar Shelf Grab concept and adds a controlled drop mechanic that introduces timing, surprise, and dynamic movement into the challenge. The Shelf Grab element mounts into a metal sleeve that branches off and connects directly to your rig. This sleeve acts as the guiding system for the obstacle, housing the main shelf pipe while allowing it to move vertically within a controlled range.

At the top of the sleeve, a locking collar sits on the shelf pipe and can be repositioned to adjust the total drop distance, giving course builders full control over difficulty and movement range. In its starting position, the shelf is fully raised and held in place by a built-in magnet on the sleeve bracket, keeping the obstacle stable and ready for engagement.

Once an athlete makes contact and commits to the obstacle, the magnetic hold releases and the shelf drops until the locking collar reaches the bottom of the sleeve’s opening. This creates a sudden, controlled descent that athletes must react to, maintaining grip and body control through the full range of motion.

The Shelf Drop blends static precision with unexpected movement, making it a standout feature for both training and competition environments.
